COURSING

WEEK-END MEETING AT AKURA. To enable members of the Armed Forces to attend the Wairarapa Coursing Club’s meetings, Sunday coursing is to be continued until the end of this season, which will close on September 6. Recently several of the club’s officials entered camp, and the holding of Sunday meetings will enable them to be present. Good fields have entered for both stakes on Saturday, the maiden event being oversubscribed. The Cup has a strong field of well-bred greyhounds, representing the best animals from Auckland to Wellington. The draw will take-place at 8.30 o’clock tonight in the A. and P. rooms.
