HOSPITAL AFFAIRS
MEETING OF WAIRARAPA BOARD. LIVING OUT ALLOWANCES INCREASED. The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board was held today at the Masterton Hospital, the chairman, Mr H. H. Mawley, presiding. The following nurses, who had passed their final State examination, were promoted to staff nurses: Mrs L. E. Cunningham, Misses L. J. Arnold, P. J. Barton, H. L. N. Miller, M. C. Moylan and M. N. Pownall. The living out allowance paid to members of the nursing staff was increased from £6O to £75 per annum. The Managing-Secretary, Mr Norman Lee, reported that' he had accepted an offer of men under Scheme 13 (subsidised labour) for employment at the Masterton Hospital grounds for vegetable growing.
