LUCERNE AS FOOD
SUPPLY TO AUSTRALIAN TROOPS. ON ADVICE OF NUTRITION COMMITTEE. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. Lucerne, noted as a fodder, is to be served to troops in Australia because of its high content of Vitamins A and C. It will be dried in the sun, finely chopped and mixed with other foods. The chairman of the Australian Food Council, Mr Beasley, said the decision to use lucerne as a food for human beings had been made on the advice of the Nutrition Committee.
