Mr J. A. Dudson, of Carterton, has found it necessary to enter the Croydon Hospital, Carterton, for treatment.
The funeral of the late Mrs Caroline King took place at the Clareville Cemetery yesterday and was largely attended. The services at St Mark s Church, Carterton, and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev W. B. Stent. The pallbearers were Messrs Eric Eaton. Stanley King, John Eaton and Ken Scott. Among others, floral tributes were sent by St Mark’s Ladies’ Guild, the Carterton League of Mothers, the Carterton Bowling Club and St Mark’s Vestry.
There was a large attendance at the funeral of the late Mrs Emma Fairbrother, which took place yesterday at the Clareville Cemetery. A short service was held at the Carterton Methodist Church by the Rev J. H. Daglish, who afterwards conducted the service at the graveside. Many beautiful wreaths covered the casket. The pall-bearers were Sapper B. Fairbrother, Messrs Eudo Hart, Percy Reid and H. Hodder. The funeral of the late Mrs E. Betteridge took place at Masterton this morning. The services at Hyde’s Funeral Chapel and the graveside were conducted by Archdeacon E. J. Rich. A large number of floral tributes included wreaths from the Bridge Circle, the Masterton Croquet Club and St. Matthew’s Ladies’ Guild. The pall-bearers were Messrs H. A. R. Dunderdale, W. L. Marchbank, J. M. Aikman, R. Hatch, E. J. Coleman and J. Ninnes.
