ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

DANCE IN MASONIC HALL. The dance held by the St. John Ambulance Brigade in the Masonic Hall on Saturday evening proved to be exceedingly popular, the hall being crowded early in the evening. The committee apologises to the many patrons who had to be turned away. The music supplied by Jack Barnes and his Rhythm Boys was warmly applauded, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by the Cadet Superintendent, Mr C. S. McQuade. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss G. Godden and Pte. G. Dempsey and a lucky spot fox trot by Miss J. Beating (Feilding) and Pte. R. Watts.

An extra was played by Miss J. Haeata, and much appreciated vocal items were rendered by Miss Waireka Nini. The ladies’ committee deserved special praise for the excellent way in which it handled the supper arrangements for such a large gathering.
