An Appeal Dismissed.
At a sitting of the Transport Licensing Authority at Masterton, Messrs Fly and Young applied for an additional transport licence which was granted. The Wairarapa Transport Ltd., Masterton, appealed against the decision of the Board and the case came, before Mr Justice Fraser who has disallowed the appeal, and has confirmed the decision of the Transport Licensing Authority. Trespassing on Reserve. The authorities should be ' advised that unless the emergency was apparent, trespassing on a scenic reserve under any circumstances was prohibited, said Mr A. F. Waters, Commissioner of Crown Lands, in notifying the Taranaki County Council that several small tawhero trees in a scenic reserve had been- cut down by the Home Guard. Nothing in a scenic reserve should be disturbed without the consent of the Minister in charge of Scenery Preservation, Mr Waters pointed out.
