Ambassador, driven by Ben White, won the Hambletonian, the world’s classic trotting stake at Goshen, New York, taking the second and third heats after Payup had won the first. The favourite, Colby Hanover, was never a contender among the eleven -starters. The victory was worth 20,489 dollars to the winner.
