MASTERTON BRANCH. MEETING OF MEMBERS. Miss Tankersley presided over a fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Masterton branch of the W.C.T.U. Mrs Jansen led the devotions. It was decided to reciprocate the sympathy of the Brooklyn Union in connection with the recent earthquakes. In response to a request for assistance to 'the Seamen’s Rests maintained by the W.C.T.U., it was decided to make a donation of £l. Mrs Morice supplied the Temperance fact as follows: “Mr McAdam Eccles, , the noted London surgeon, when on his way to the Medical Conference at Melbourne, had said that all physiologists now count alcohol a pure narcotic drug, not a stimulant.” Miss Tankersley reported on Red Cross matters. Mesdames Morice and Hansen were the hostesses. ..
