OBITUARY

MR PETER NIELSEN. The death occurred yesterday afternoon of a well known Masterton resident, in the person of Mr Peter Nielsen, of Lincoln Road. The late Mr Nielsen was born at Troon, Denmark, 88 years ago and came to New Zealand in 1875. For a period he was engaged in bushfalling at Mauriceville and latex' purchased a farm at Dryer’s Rock. He sold this place and took over a property at Pongaroa. He retired in 1907 and lived in Eketahuna for 12 years, then taking up his residence in Masterton. He took a keen interest in bowls while living at Eketahuna and also in Masterton. He had been a member of the Masterton Masonic Lodge No. 19 fdr a considerable time. He was twice married, his first wife dying in 1922. He leaves a widow but no family. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon leaving his late residence after a service at 2.30 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
