LADIES’ GUILD.
MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS
At the monthly meeting of the Masterton Methodist Ladies’ Social Guild, Mrs H. S. Kings presided over a good attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Keltic, Fly and Lindsay, A welcome was extended to a new member, Mrs Griffiths. It was decided to forward a letter to Mrs Coradine expressing the- hope that she would soon be restored to normal health.
Miss V. Jackson was elected to represent the Guild at the quarterly meeting of the church officials. Arrangements- were made for members to assist at the Anzac Club next week. In response to an appeal for assistance, a number of ladies agreed to help with the supper at the Sports Club on Friday, A welcome is extended to soldiers to attend thesegatherings. The happy thought was provided by Mrs Speight. Most of the time was spent sewing for the Red Cross Society and some members undertook to make mittens which are urgently needed by the men in camp. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs Madsen and Miss Jackson.
