Weather dull with further rain. Temperatures moderate. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Cold and showery. LOCAL REPORT. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 11 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended. 9 a.m. today. Mr N. W. Towns reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 8 a.m. today: — Barograph, 30.08; shade temperature, maximum 63.1, minimum 34.9; terrestrial, 24.9; sunshine, 8 hours 48 minutes; rain, 8 points; frost, 5.5 degrees. PHASES OF THE MOON. New moon, August 12. First quarter, August 19. Full moon, August 26. Draw blinds at 6.15 p.m. today; raise them at 6.53 a.m. tomorrow.
