USEFUL CAPTURE

SPECIMEN OF LATEST FOCKE-WULF PILOT FORCED DOWN & OVERPOWERED. ON BRITISH SOUTH COAST. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 4. j-ritain is now in possession of the secrets of the Focke-Wulf 110, because one was brought down in good condition. It is the German answer to the Spitfire, which has been in action for nearly a year, but only in recent months in large numbers. The Germans have concentrated squadrons in the north of France in a vain attempt to stop the R.A.F. daylight offensive. The Focke-Wulf was brought down and landed on the south coast after a long fight, in which it was slightly damaged. With his petrol and ammunition exhausted, the pilot was overpowered before he was able to destroy the plane. One of the features of the Focke-Wulf is the high ceiling at which it operates at a maximum speed.
