DOMINION STATUS
PRIZED BY AUSTRALIA FRATERNAL PARTNERSHIP OF EQUALS. MR. CURTIN REPLIES TO PANDIT NEHRU. (Special Australian Correspondent.) (Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Australia is completely satisfied with its status and rights as a self-govern-ing member of the British Commonwealth of Nations, says Mr J. Curtin (Federal Prime Minister), commenting on a statement by the leader of the Indian Congress, Pandit Nehru, that he “hated Dominion status.” The partnership is that of equals in a fraternity of unity, whose history has been marked by great contributions to civilisation and whose future we are defending to our utmost as the stronghold of Democracy,” Mr Curtin added.
