PURSUANT to the Foodstuffs Emer--1 gency Regulations, 1939, I, James Ewing Thomas, Food Controller, hereby require and direct as follows: — (1) This notice may be cited as the Foodstuffs (Potatoes) Control Notice, 1942. (2) This notice shall apply to all potatoes that are not seed potatoes within the meaning of the Sale of Potatoes Control Order, 1942, Statutory Regulations, 1942, serial number 1942/194. (3) No grower shall sell any potatoes to which this notice applies except to the Food Controller or his appointed agent. (4) No merchant or wholesaler shall sell or ship potatoes to which this notice applies except with the prior consent of or in accordance with the directions of the Food Controller. (5) Except with the prior consent of the Food Controller, no person shall ship potatoes from the North Island to the South Island or from the South Island to the North Island. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that, at a Special Meeting of the Eketahuna County Council, 'held on the 10th day of July, 1942, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council, to be held on FRIDAY, the 14th day of August, 1942, at 1 the Council Chambers, Eketahuna, at 1 p.m.:— “That in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in Section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931, the Eketahuna County Council hereby resolves, by way of Special Order, that Sections one hundred and twenty-one and one hundred and thirty-one of the Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to this Council.” Dated at Eketahuna this 20th day of July, 1942.
