WAR TIME BANK HOLIDAY IN BRITAIN
LONDONERS FLOCK TO THAMES.
INSTEAD OF VISITING SEASIDE.
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.2 G p.m.) LONDON, August 3.
The absence of motor-cars from London streets and country roads was a most notable feature of the Bank holiday. Not a single car was seen on a road on which they formerly formed a procession. Another feature was the popularity of the Thames. Londoners unable to visit the seaside flocked to the river.
