A Nazi submarine sank a medium - sizezd American merchantman 1000 miles off the Atlantic coast. Three persons were killed and fourteen are missing. . . The submarine crew took proivsions from the ship, thus indicating a shortage of rations aboard. They then took Captain Henry Stephenson from a lifeboat. This is' the first time that a submarine has kidnapped anyone from a torpedoed ship.
