PAHIATUA SALE. DEMAND FOR STORE SHEEP. The Associated Auctioneers report as follows on their Pahiatua sale yesterday: A medium yarding of all classes came forward, and were offered to a moderate attendance of local buyers. In the store sheep section, the demand was keen and realisations here were on a par with late rates. In the fat sheep section a pen of fat ewes made 20s. The dairy market has appreciated on late sales, and realisations in this section in most cases exceed vendors’ expectations,. a total clearance being effected at auction. Pigs were in short supply, and prices here were high. Quotations: —M.a. ewes, r.S.D. rams 245, 225, w.w. hoggets 20s 7d to l-0s 4d, b.f. hoggets 19s 2d to 17s, small b.f. hoggets 16s, fat ewes 20s. Spg. cows £9 10s, £9 to £7, spg. heifers £lO 2s 6d to £7, wnr. Jersey heifers £3 10s. Pigs: Stores 365, slips 35s to 335.
