REGENT THEATRE
“HELLZAPOPPIN.” “Hellzapoppin” will be finally shown tonight. “SULLIVAN’S TRAVELS.” . Blonde Veronica Lake with the husky voice doesn’t get a name, but she manages to get plenty of her uvzn way in “Sullivan’s Travels,” which will be shown tomorrow night at the Regent Theatre. She is teamed with Joel McCrea, who is a wealthy picture producer with advanced ideas about the social equation, and who decides to find out for himself just what it is like to be poor. Veronica Lake accompanies him, and their excursions take them through all the backwaters of life. One time he goes alone, and this time he really strikes trouble. JHe also discovers that people prefer to see the sunshine and not the shadows. The picture has at times a heavy serious side, but it abounds in good comedy, and is altogether acceptable entertainment. The supports are varied in character and of special interest.
