Sir, —If only to thank Mr Maxton of Greytown and my near-neighbour Mrs Ann Fletcher for their very kind reference to my interest in early church and other local history, I again encroach upon space to further say your concluding words of report of last night’s meeting of parishioners “and the sympathy of the community will be with parishioners in their big task of building a new church which will be worthy of Masterton,” expresses a general sentiment which will go far in reaching the bold objective upon which all will march in the raising of the £12,000 needed to bring religious worship in our community once more into fullest devotional play. —I am, etc., N.J.B. • Masterton, July 24,
