SOUTH FEATHERSTON
FAREWELL GATHERING - MR AND MRS ASHWORTH HONOURED. ("Times-Age” Special.) The residents of South Featherston tendered a farewell social gathering to Mr and Mrs Ashworth who are leaving the district to reside at Hastwell. The time was spent in cards and dancing. Mrs A. Gain supplied the music. The card winners were Mrs Lumsden and Mr G. Cuff. Mr Blandford, on behalf of the residents, presented Mr and Mrs Ashworth with a dinner wagon and cups and saucers. Mr Ashworth suitably replied. On behalf of the Home and School Association Mrs Arch. Clark presented Mrs Ashworth with a handbag for which Mrs Ashworth returned thanks. Personal Items. Miss Myrene Dick has returned to South Featherston after having visited her parents at Hawera. Miss Jean Burt has returned home after a holiday spent at Nuhaka and Hawera. Mr and Mrs Jepsen are spending a holiday in Wellington.
