The R.A.F. continued its amazing performances in North Africa yesterday, when it made over a hundred sorties with light bombers. “The Times” Cairo correspondent says there was no effective enemy fighter opposition. The Luftwaffe’s inactivity is believed to be due to the success of our attacks on the Fuka and El Daba aerodromes. It is thought that many more enemy aircraft were then damaged than were claimed.

had come. The remainder of the company’s gyns, supporting the first attacking group, with our left formation, reached their position. The machineguns with the second group were unable to reach the ridge because of pockets which cut off their line of advance. When German 88-millimetre guns opened up against the New Zealand positions, our machine-gunners concentrated their fire from about 2,000 yards.
