SLAUGHTER IN CRETE

At Nicosia (in Cyprus) it is reported that four women who offered a refuge to British airmen who made a forced landing in Crete, and others who flashed signals to British night raiders, were among the 25 latest executions in Crete. In addition, three persons were shot at Aghiavaravara and 125 hostages were taken and 19 employees of the Kastello Aerodrome were executed.. Sixty-two persons, including a former mayor, were executed in Candia. Eight inhabitants of Prinias village were shot. Twenty-four were taken as hostages and 18 were executed in other districts. The houses of all the victims were set on fire.
