The Catalogue comprises: 20 YEARLING AYRSHIRE BULLS 20 YEARLING AYRSHIRE HEIFERS The Ardgowan Ayrshire Stud is the leading herd of the breed in the Dominion both for type and production. It has been built up on the world’s best blood, imported from Scotland and Canada. All of the yearling bulls being sold and most of the heifers are sired by the Scottish importations, Netherton Mahmoud, and Harleyholm Topsman, two bulls representing the very proven blood in Ayrshire. Netherton Mahmoud has already sired many notable winners, including the 1941 North Island Champion. His dam has many great records in Scotland ranging up to 8021bs. fat in 325 days. His daughters at Ardgowan have given up to 5001bs. fat with first calf, running with a herd of 120 cows and no forced feeding. All records at Ardgowan are made under these conditions. Testing has been continuous since the herd was established and every cow in the herd is tested. A special attraction will be six yearling sons and five yearling heifers by the latest importation, Harleyholm Topsman, selected as the best bull of his age in Scotland. This bull is proving to be one of the greatest sires of any breed ever imported. Catalogues, giving full particulars and train arrangements, on application.
