RECOGNITION BY UNITED STATES. VICHY PROTEST TO BE IGNORED. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, July 16. The Vichy Government protested against the United States appointment of naval and military representatives with the Fighting French in London. A Washington message says that authoritative quarters reported that the United States will ignore the protest. Five Frenchmen were executed at Lille for the murder of a German soldier, says the Brussels radio. Two others were executed for Communist propaganda and the possession of firearms.
