WAR SERVICE

AGE LIMIT JN UNITED STATES LIKELY TO BL LOvVLRED. FORMATION. OF NORWEGIAN BATTALION. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, July 16. “It will be necessary eventually to lower the draft age to eighteen,” said the Secretary for War (Mr H. L. Stimson). He expressed the opinion that young married men and youths of 18 to 20 will actually be drafted before victory is won. Mr Stimson announced that a battalion of Norwegian nationals will be organised for service with the United States forces. This will demonstrate to Norwegians throughout the world America’s determination to restore their Government to its rightful sovereignty.
