SWISS FOUND GUILTY IN DUNEDIN. APPEAL POINT RAISED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, July 16. In the Supreme Court today,.before Mr Justice Kennedy, Henri Arthur Hirt, aged 48, a Swiss, was found guilty of having unlawfully used an instrument with intent to procure a miscarriage. Prisoner was remanded for sentence on Tuesday next, bail being granted in his own recognisance of £lOOO and two sureties of £lOOO each. During the trial a point was raised by the defence as to the admissibility of the evidence of the woman concerned on the ground that counsel had had inadequate opportunity to crossexamine her. His Honour intimated that any application to him to state a case on this point to the Court of Ap- f peal should be made not later than ■Monday.
