STATE THEATRE
A DOUBLE PROGRAMME. Two excellent films, each worthy of heading any programme, will be shown tonight at the State Theatre, where the bill also’ includes topical newsreels. “Four Jacks and a Jiff, tne first long feature, has a musical bacKground that is not overdone, and a snappy plot with plenty of fun and a dash of excitement. Four members o an orchestra are not particularly cer tain where their next meal is coming from, but the arrival of a pretty lass who claims to have sung before royalty changes the scene, and complications follow when a king is personated to draw trade to a restaurant. It is bright entertainment, with Ray Bolgei and Ann Shirley sharing the honours. The associate feature. Land of th Open Range,” is a particularly inter esting picture.
