BY CHIEF OF SOVIET INFORMATION BUREAU

in Outcome of East Front Conflict PREDICTION OF GERMAN KNOCK-OUT IN FOURTH ROUND FURIOUS BATTLES CONTINUE ON DON LINE LONDON, July 14. The most ferocious fighting' on the Russian front is centred in the Boguchar district, 200 miles south of Voronezh. It appears that the German command is planning a big pincer movement towards the important war industrial centre of Stalingrad. The Germans originally advanced in three columns, two oi which tried to encircle the Russian forces. A fierce rear- ■ guard action enabled the Russians to retire southwards to new positions. Marshal Timoshenko’s forces are bitterly fighting for every foot of ground at Voronezh. The German threat to the town is growing hour by hour, as more German tanks and infantry are moved up to support the shock troops which broke through yesterday. The German command is throwing new units across the River Don, regardless of losses. Complete confidence on the outcome of the battle is expressed by the Chief of the Soviet Information Bureau. In the first round last year, he said, the Germans advanced; in the second round, from September to March, the Russians advanced. Now the Germans were advancing again in the third round. In the fourth round, and he said he was expressing the considered view of persons in authority, the Germans would get a knock-out blow.
