U-BOAT ATTACKS

IN THE ST. LAWRENCE THREE UNITED STATES SHIPS TORPEDOED. FOUR SEAMEN DEAD & FOUR MISSING. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) OTTAWA, July 13. Three United States ships were torpedoed and sunk in the St. Lawrence River about a week ago. Announcing this in the House of Commons, the Navy Minister, Mr Macdonald, said that four members of the crews were killed, four were missing and 97 had been rescued. This is the second appearance of an enemy submarine in the St. Lawrence, attacks having been made over a brief period some weeks ago.
