PUBLIC NOTICES. BOROUGH OF MASTERTON. PURSUANT to Section 54 of “The Rating Act, 1925,” NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Master ton Borough Council will, at an Ordinary Meeting to be held in the Council Chamber, Chapel Street, on TUESDAY, the 21st day of July, 1942, make and levy, under the provisions of Sections 77, 82, 89 and 92 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1926,” and Section 52 of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” Section 21 of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” and all other Acts enabling it in that behalf, the following Rates for the period commencing the Ist day of April, 1942, and ending the 31st day of March, 1943, namely: (1) A GENERAL RATE of 5.105 pence in the £. A SEPARATE LIBRARY RATE of one farthing in the £. A SPECIAL WAIPOUA RIVER LOAN RATE of .25 of a penny in the £. A SPECIAL NO. 1 CONVERSION LOAN RATE of 3.5 pence in the £. A SPECIAL DRAINAGE AND SEWERAGE REPAIR LOAN RATE of .0625 of a penny in the £. A SPECIAL RUAMAHANGA RIVER BRIDGE LOAN RATE of .02 of a penny in the £. A SPECIAL BOROUGH ENDOWMENT BUILDINGS LOAN RATE of .09375 of a penny iri the £ upon the Unimproved Value of all rateable property within the Borough of Masterton. A HOSPITAL RATE of the sum of 6£d in the £ upon the annual value of all rateable property within the Borough of Masterton. A STREET LIGHTING RATE of the sum of 2d in the £ upon the annual value of all rateable property within the Borough of Masterton. A SEPARATE WATER SUPPLY RATE as follows:— (1) On all lands and DWELLINGS within the Borough of Masterton to which water is supplied, A RATE OF 3] PER CENTUM on the Annual Value, with a minimum charge of TEN SHILLINGS. (2) On all lands and buildings used for any purpose other than a dwelling house, and on all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situate within 100 yards of any part of the waterworks, A RATE OF ONE-HALF of the rates above mentioned. A SPECIAL RATE of the sum of .2 of a penny in the £ on all rateable property within the Special Area of the Borough of Masterton as defined in the Special Order in that behalf, upon the Unimproved Value, for the purpose of providing Interest and Sinking Fund on the Drainage Loan Inscribed. A SPECIAL RATE of the sum of 4 pence in the £ on all rateable property within the Special Area of the Borough of Masterton (Lansdowne Special Area) as defined in the Special Order' in that behalf, upon the unimproved value, for the purpose of providing interest and Sinking Fund on the No. 2 Conversion Loan. A SPECIAL COLE STREET AND LINCOLN ROAD RATE of .06 of a penny in the £. A SPECIAL NORTHERN APPROACH RATE of .09 of a penny in the £. A SPECIAL INSCRIBED WATER RATE of .25 of a penny in the £. A SPECIAL NO. 3 CONVERSION RATE of .625 of a penny in the £ on the unimproved value of all rateable property within the Borough of Masterton, SOUTH WARD, as defined in the Special Orders in that behalf. A SPECIAL FOOTPATHS RATE of .08 of a penny in the £ on. the unimproved value of all rateable property within the Borough of Masterton (Lansdowne Special Area), as defined in the Special Orders in that behalf. (2) That of the following Special Rates only the amounts set out against them hereunder be collected for the rating period: — SPECIAL WAIPOUA RIVER LOAN RATE, .2 of Id in the £. SPECIAL NO. 1 CONVERSION RATE, 2.75 pence in the £. SPECIAL COLE STREET AND LINCOLN ROAD RATE, .04 of Id in the £. SPECIAL NO. 3 CONVERSION RATE, .45 of Id in the £. SPECIAL NORTHERN APPROACH RATE, .05 of Id in the £. SPECIAL BOROUGH ENDOWMENT BUILDINGS RATE, .08 of Id in the £. (3) That the following Special. Rates be not collected for the rating period:— SPECIAL INSCRIBED WATER RATE. DRAINAGE AND SEWERAGE REPAIR RATE. RUAMAHANGA RIVER BRIDGE RATE. (4) That the Interest, Sinking Fund and othei' charges .on the following Special Loans be paid out of the General Account: — DRAINAGE AND SEWERAGE REPAIR LOAN. RUAMAHNGA RIVER BRIDGE LOAN. (5) That the Interest, Sinking Fund and other charges on the following Special Loans be paid out of the Waterworks Account: — SPECIAL INSCRIBED WATER LOAN. WATERWORKS IMPROVEMENT LOAN, 1940. (6) That the following rates be CONSOLIDATED for the purpose of collection under the provisions of Section 96 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933”SOUTH RATING AREA: General, Library, No. 1 Conversion, Waipoua River, Cole Street and Lincoln Road, Northern Approach, No. 3 Conversion and Borough Endowment Buildings. LANSDOWNE: General, Library, No. 1 Conversion, Waipoua River and Borough Endowment Buildings. (7) That all the above rates be payable in one instalment on FRIDAY, the 7th day of August, 1942. (8) That under the provisions of Section 64 (3) of “The Rating Act, 1925,” a REBATE of 5% be allowed off all rates if paid on or before MONDAY, the 7th day of September, 1942.
