WAR PRODUCTION
EXPANSION IN INDIA. PROPOSALS OF AMERICAN MISSION. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) RUGBY, July 8. The recommendations of the American Technical Mission to India are being systematically considered by the War Resources Committee. The Indian Office stated that decisions have been taken on these and other questions. One of the principal recommendations of the mission concerned the rationalisation and regimentation of industry and the more efficient use of workshops. This is being actively pursued. The committee is confident that Indian industry will co-operate in the interests of the national war effort. Apart from the production of munitions, the committee has sanctioned u scheme for the improvement of many other facilities and for the production of power alcohol, for which twelve plants have been ordered.
