No Confirmation From Russian Sources BUT ATTACKS OF INCREASING FURY REPORTED SUCCESSFUL SOVIET COUNTER-ATTACKS IN KURSK AND MOSCOW AREAS LONDON, July 1, The Germans claim that Sebastopol, the strongest land and naval fortress in the world, has fallen at last. The commander of the Nazi forces in the Crimea has been promoted and all the German soldiers taking part in the battle are to get a special medal. There is no confirmation of the report from Russian sources, though the latest despatches speak of the increasingfury of the enemy attacks. The Germans have launched a new offensive on the central front, 100 miles west of Moscow. The enemy is reported to have been defeated in heavy counter-attacks. The Moscow radio reports violent fighting in the Kursk sector. Successful Russian counter-attacks are reported. '
