SPANISH DENIAL

OF AID GIVEN TO AXIS WARSHIPS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) MADRID, June 30. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published a communique denying American reports that Spanish ships wirelessed other ships requesting retransmission of messages, thereby enabling Axis warships to locate and attack the retransmitting ship. The communique describes the reports as “false and ill-intentioned,” and says that Spanish ships have been ordered not to use the wireless except for emergency aid calls.
