WEDDING
. ASPLET—BURLING. ■ The marriage took place recently at Knox Presbyterian Church, Masterton, of Miss Lilian Dorothy, eldest daughter of Mrs M. C. Burling, of Masterton, and John West, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. Asplet, Masterton. The .Right Rev.M. Davie conducted the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, was attired in a frock of white satin cut on simple lines. The gown had long fitting sleeves and tiny buttons at the back. The veil was held by a halo of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet. The bridesmaid was Miss Mary Asplet, sister of the bridegroom. Her frock was of salmon pink. Her bouquet was of jonquils and native shrub. The flower girls were dressed in the same style as the bridesmaid and carried Victorian posies. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Cyril Burling, brother of the bride. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Orange Hall there being 40 guests. The two-tier wedding cake was made by the bride’s aunt. The future home of Mr and Mrs Asplet will be in Masterton.
