EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE ' AN INSPECTOR’S REPORT (“Times-Age” Special.) As Councillor Quinton Donald is in camp, the Featherston Council appointed Mr Stewart Reid to inspect all damage done to property in Cr Donald’s riding. Mr Reid has completed his inspection and states that he found the damage was more serious than was at first estimated. Approximately 180 chimneys in. the riding are either down or will have to be taken down. Water tanks and structures have also been damaged. The Featherston dairy factory has been extensively damaged and a problem faces the directors in regard to carrying out repairs before the season commences early in August. Personal Items. The following passed the recent A.R.P. transport section examination: Misses A. Foss, M. Dempster, Jean Donald, Flora Donald and Mrs Nancy Skipage. The death occurred at Featherston on Tuesday of Mrs Josephine Pauline Adamson, widow of Mr James Adamson, at the age of 67 years. The late Mrs Adamson had been in failing health for the past few months. Euchre Party. An enjoyable time was spent at the patriotic euchre party held on Monday afternoon. A donation was received from Miss Goodrich. A competition was won by Mrs Viles and the card tournament by Mrs Chisholm. COSY THEATRE “FIREFLY” TONIGHT. Tonight’s programme will be headed by the musical treat, “Firefly,” featuring Jeanette MacDonald, Allan Jones and Warren William.
