MINIATURE RIFLES SCORES IN COMPETITION. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following scores were registered in a competition held, by the Featherston Miniature Rifles Club: —S. Buck 99. I. Feast 97, K. McKenzie 93, N. McNamara 92. B. Bennett 90, J. Buck 90, S. Alexander 89, C. Foster 89, A. Viles 87, Sergt. Nixon 87, D. Haste 86, Lieut. Lisder 86, Corp. Abbott 85, Lieut. Dardon 85, Driver Heslop 81, D. Sim 78, Lieut. Laymen 77, G. White 76, Sergt. Rowe 64, Joan Marshall 55. Riflemen ss Tutors. Several of Featherston’s leading rifle shots have been asked by the Military to give instruction to soldiers in the use of the rifle with a view to making them into snipers. With such tutors as C. J. Nix, K. McKenzie, W. Johnson, L. Beston, Frank Hood and a host of other champion shots, excellent results are to be expected. Fellowship of Youth. A very enjoyable time was spent at the Parish Hall last evening when the members of the Fellowship of Youth entertained their parents and frienls. The items given were much appreciated and all received encores. Songs in character were given by Misses Olwyn Clapshow, Alma Cassidy and Dorothy Raper; a pianoforte solo by Miss Janet Allen; song by Mr K. H. Allen; pianofort duet by Misses J. .Allen and J. Hunter; vocal duet by Misses J. Allen and O. Clapshaw. COSY THEATRE “FIREFLY.” Tomorrow night’s pogramme will be headed by “Firefly,” a musical comedy featuring Jeanette MacDonald, Allan Jones and Warren William.
