TIMOSHENKO RUSHING UP RESERVES INCREASING USE MADE OF PARATROOPS. LANDINGS BEHIND GERMAN LINES. MOSCOW, June 28. Marshal Timoshenko is believed to have reorganised his defence positions on a new line from Alefieyevka, north-east of Kharkov, to Lisichansk, which is at the head of the oil pipeline supplying the Red Army. Marshal Timoshenko is rushing up reserves to defend the pipeline and also the VoronezhRostov railway. The situation is described as stationary, though violent fighting continues. Both sides are racing to bring up air reserves, The Russians are making increasing use of paratroops. The German radio stated that a large group of Russians were deposited behind the German lines on the centrol front by air. Swedish newspapers report that Russian paratroops were landed in several densely-populated districts in Finland with the object of interruptingmilitary traffic. Moscow radio says that self-mutila-tion is increasing among the German soldiers on the Russian front. The Germans use the slang word “heimatschuss” to describe such cases, which, roughly means, “a shot to get home.”
