SOLDIERS’ DANCE ENJOYABLE GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The dislocation of the heating appliance at the Town Hall forced the dance committee to transfer the soldiers dance to the Odd Fellows’ Hall on Friday night. It was at first decided to cancel the dance, but rather than disappoint the soldiers the commmittee resolved to carry on and their decision was greatly appreciated by the soldiers. Hockey Notes. Although all competition games were cancelled on Saturday, two games were played locally, Service teams and the ladies participating. The standard oi play was good, the F team turning out a very strong combination. The D team met with considerable opposition from a local mixed eleven, the final score being 6-5 in favour of the former. Both matches proved a splendid relaxation for both players and spectators from the strain of the past few clays. Investment Society. The annual meeting of the Permanent Investment and Loan Association will be held in the Borough Council Committee Room on Monday, July 6, at 2 p.m. TOWN HALL “FIREFLY” TOMORROW NIGHT.
