R.A.F. RETURNS TO BREMEN LARGE FIRES LEFT BURNING. FIGHTERS RAID OCCUPIED FRANCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 28. The German port of Bremen, battered by the R.A.F. in the 1000-bomber raid on Thursday night, was again the main target of British home-based bombers last night. The Air Ministry states that heavy loads of high explosive and incendiary bombs were dropped and that large fires were left burning. Fighters also made attacks over occupied France. From all operations, nine bombers and two fighters are missing. Bombs were dropped last night at several points in the west and south of England. There were some casualties. A British air communique states: “This morning one of our bombers shot down an enemy bomber into the sea off South-West England.”

SOME CASUALTIES IN BRITISH COASTAL AREAS. PROPORTION OF KILLED NOT LARGE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) RUGBY June 28. An official communique states: “Last night enemy aircraft were over districts on the west and south-west coasts of England. Bombs were dropped at several points. Damage at two places was done in residential areas. There were a number of casualties, but the proportion of killed was not large.”
