WEDDING

WATERS—HENDERSON. A very pretty wedding was solemnised in Knox Church, Masterton, recently when Dora Beth, youngest daughter of Mrs E. Henderson of Carterton was married to Edward Barnard, youngest son of Mr and Mrs E. T. Waters, of Colombo Road, Masterton. The Rev D. McNeur was the officiating minister and Mr C. W. Kerry presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr G. Henderson, of Alfredton, looked charming in a white satin frock cut with a V neck, with shirred shoulders, and a flared skirt forming a train. The veil was held in place by a spray of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums, cyclamen and maiden-hair fern. The bride was attended by Miss G. Blackley as bridesmaid, and she was attired in a dress of pink satin with V neck, ruch sleeves and full skirt. She wore a halo of roses and cyclamen. The bridegroom was attended by Pte. N. F. Henderson as best man. A reception was held after the ceremony in the Masonic Hall where Mrs Henderson, mother of the bride, and Mrs Waters, mother of the bridegroom, received about 60 guests. The usual toasts were proposed and numerous congratulatory telegrams were read. Subsequently a dance was held when the guests spent a very enjoyable time. After the supper, when the bride and bridegroom left on their honeymoon, the bride was wearing a smartly tailored costume with a navy hat and accessories to match. The duties of M.C. were ably carried out by Mr C. A. Greenwood. Mr and Mrs Waters will reside in Masterton.
