WOMEN’S DIVISION

MEETING AT GREYTOWN. PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Women s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held at Grey town on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs Beu presiding over a good attendance of members. Mrs Beu expressed sympathy for Mesdames A. H. Bull and S. Skeet in their illness. A letter was received from the British Sailors’ Society thanking the Division for money forwarded. A letter of appreciation for teas served by the ladies of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was received from the Y.M.C.A. Field Secretary. A number of members brought in old files to be either sold or re-condi-tioned for defence purposes. Mrs A. Haigh thanked the Division for a parcel of woollen goods presented to her son. Mrs H. Tilyard, a former member of the Greytown branch and now president of the Waikanae branch,.conveyed. good wishes to Greytown members. A roll call competition was won by Miss Eager, with Mrs J. Feast second. A box of used stamps was handed‘-In by Mrs Tully, Senr., and Mrs Stringfellow, Senr. A competition, “an article made from something old into something new” was won by Mrs T. Orr with Mrs

E Maddison second and Mrs R. Hutchings third.
