WAIRARAPA v. ARMY. On the Carterton Showgrounds tomorrow a match will be played . between the Wairarapa and Army teams, and a fast and exciting game should be witnessed. Of the Army team Wairoa is an outstanding full-back, Jamieson a dashing wing-three-quarter and Wellington rep., Bedington a Wellington rep., Mackie a New Zealand soccer rep., Beaven a Manawatu rep., Burke a Wellington, Canterbury and New Zealand University rep., Taplin a Wellington rep., Walker a Wairarapa rep., Rodgers an Auckland rep., and Blake a Wairarapa «rep. Mr W. Grantham will be the referee. The Masterton team to play Carterton on Saturday will be-selected from the following: O’Leary, Henderson, Simmonsen, Ellison, Batty, Broughton, Mangham, Daniell, Gray, Woollett, Dewar, Steer, Major, Wilton, Price, Jonathson, Sexton.
As many of the members of the Red Star football team are engaged in essential war work it has been found that a team/ cannot be obtained for tomorrow’s match against Wairarapa College.
