PERSONAL
The death occurred at Lincoln Road, Masterton, yesterday of Mr Joe Hawea, a well known Maori at the age of 86 years. Deceased had worked on several farms in the Wairarapa and was one of the native owners of the Aohanga Native Estate at Mataikona. He leaves a widow, all his children having pre-deceased him. He is survived also by a brother and several grandchildren. The funeral will take place on Friday.
