BRITISH GREETING
CHURCHILL’S MESSAGE TO STALIN ASSURANCE OF LOYAL COLLABORATION. DURING AND AFTER WAR. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 22. Mr Winston Churchill sent a message to Premier Stalin on the occasion of the anniversary of the German attack on the Soviet Union renewing his expressions of the admiration of the British for the magnificent defence made by the Russian military and guerilla forces and the work done by Russian civilians. Mr Churchill said the British had a firm conviction that the Russian achievements of the past year would be surpassed in the coming months. The fighting alliance of Britain and Russia, together with the other Allies, especially the United States, would bring Germany to her knees. “You can count on us to assist you by every means in our power,” he said. Relations between Britain and Russia had been strengthened during the year of war, and their alliance covered not only the war with Germany but collaboration and mutual assistance in the future. The treaty was welcomed by the British people as warmly as by the Russians.
