STATE THEATRE
“SUNDOWN.”
The splendid picture, “Sundown,” will be finally shown tonight. “BROADWAY LIMITED.” Since War and Bloom must never be permitted to become partners, Hollywood has been doing its bit in keeping up the morale by producing films of light plots and many laughs. The latest piece of cheerful lunacy is to be flashed across the screen at the State Theatre tomorrow night. It’s title is “Broadway Limited” and it is mainly concerned with a trainload of inconsequental souls —many of them girls of comely figures and blonde curls—who fool their way through many smart lines and much comedy of the good old variety. Hal Roach produced the picture, and he has assembled a fine range of top-line stars—Victor McLaglen, in a role so different from his “Informer portrayal that it is hard to associa e the two performances with one ana the same man, Dennis O’Keefe, who is allowed to depart from his crime cycle of pictures, Patsy Kelly, who is always good for a dozen laughs, Zazu Pitts whose comedy work first brought her to the notice of Hal Roach many years ago, and George E. Stone.
