FRIESIAN CATTLE SALE. The first annual sale of Friesian cattle held at the Carterton Showgrounds on behalf of the combined breeders in the district attracted a good attendance. The vendors. Messrs C. Knutson, Turepo; W. J. Parker. Koromiko; K. G. Fairbrother, Daleficlcl; and L. S. Gallon, Tarata, catalogued a fine lote of cattle in splendid order, and though the sale was a dragging' one. good prices were realised. 32 lots selling under the hammer at an average price of 24gns., which compares well with the recent combined sale in the Waikato, when only eight lots were sold under the hammer. The top price fo rbulls was 50gns. paid by Mr L. R. Huntly, Matarawa, for the rising yearling Koromiko F.P. Educator, a son of the imported sire, Colony Flood Perfection 14th, and bred by Mr M. Parker. Mi' R. A. Bell, Howick, paid the top price of 40gns. for in-calf heifer, Tarata W. Margaret, by Mahoe Wolseley, bred by Mr L. S. Gallon. The 26 heifers sold averaged 22gns., and the six bulls 30 2-3gns. The sale was conducted by Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd.
