SWINTON COMMITTEE
MR DUFF-COOPER TAKES OVER CHAIRMANSHIP. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) RUGBY, June 18. The Deputy Prime Minister, Mr C. R. Attlee, announced in the House of Commons that the chairmanship of the Swinton Committee would be taken over by Mr A. Duff-Cooper, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. Viscount Swinton has been appointed a Cabinet Minister with residence in West Africa.
