News received from Poland today by Polish Government circles in London indicates that since the attack on Heydrich, the German authorities have carried out special measures of self-pro-tection in Poland and Czechoslovakia. A special assistant to the Governor-Gen-eral, Frank, in security matters in Poland has been appointed. He is the notorious S.S. commander Krueger. His first step was the arrest of all Polish officers of the reserve, numbering over 10,000. At the same time, 3,500 Polish officers were arrested on Polish territory incorporated into the Reich. Of these many were shot as enemies of Germany. Krueger is reported to be raining down death sentences on Poles all over the country.
