Thiele, R.N.Z.A.F., of Christchurch, has been promoted to squadron leader and now commands a flight in a Canadian Bomber Command squadron. Sergeant K. C. McGregor, of Masterton, a member of the same squadron as Squadron Leader Thiele, has participated in many thrilling operations, including the Channel attack against the Scharnhorst and Gneisenau and the mass raid on Cologne, when he was captain of a four-engined Halifax.
