A director of the largest cocoa manufacturers in New Zealand said in Dunedin yesterday that before the last sales tax was introduced a reduction of twopense a lb. to the public was being considered, this being made possible through the fact that cocoa was now manufactured in Dunedin. An offer to 'proceed with this reduction had been made to the Government i. the Additional sales tax were not imposed. Should the Government decide against any alteration in the new regulations the extra tax would be carried by manufacturers, thus ensuring that the price would remain at prewar level.
